Treasure hunt at Durga Puja 2009

Posted in Announcements, Events by Pujari Atlanta on September 9, 2009

Dear Friends,

As Durga Puja draws closer, we want to inform you about one of the planned kids’ events (back by popular demand!)- Treasure Hunt.

In this event kids (ages 7 and above) will be grouped into 3 (or 4 depending upon number of participants) groups and will be required to rack their brains to solve puzzles, mental challenges, demonstrate team spirit, ability to look for clues and follow directions. Not only will their efforts and creativity lead the winning team to the “Treasure Chest” but our game is structured such that we hope that the kids will become more knowledgeable about Indian culture and history, by way of this fun event.

We plan to start at 12.00 Noon, on 26th September, 2009 at Berkmar High School.

If you are interested for your kids to participate, please respond to Sonia Nandi with name and age of child by September 19th, 2009, and if you know of others who may not be in Pujari’s mailing list, please spread the word around.

Thanks,

Sonia Nandi

Young Achievers – call for stories

Posted in Announcements, Events by Pujari Atlanta on August 2, 2009

All your kids are high achievers. Their success stories are unique. Some signify how to overcome great challenges and others are just stories of remarkable academic brilliance. When shared, these can touch and encourage other minds.

We want to open up Durga Puja 2009, Anjali magazine as a platform of sharing these stories among the Pujari communities and further. As a parent, if you have such a story to share, please send me a paragraph or two on these little achievers.

Fun Motifs for Durga Puja Decoration – from kids

Posted in Announcements by Pujari Atlanta on May 21, 2009

Dear Friends,

Summer break is almost here and hope you have tons of fulfilled activities planned with your kids already. We have an interesting and colorful project in mind for our young Pujari patrons, that will keep them busy during their vacation. The decoration team will be looking for Colorful ‘Motif’ Paintings from the kids to decorate the side walls and partitions during Durga Puja. These motifs will be a part of our Durga Puja decoration.

We will be giving out simple yet bold patterns that will have to be drawn out on colored chart paper and painted using water color/acrylic paints. Parents are welcome to help their kids complete this project.

We want this to be a fun project for the youngsters, so that they are able to relate to Durga Puja in a bigger and better way.

Please let me know if your kid/s would be interested to participate by the end of this month; so that I may forward the design and dimensions to you by the first week of June, via email. I know some of you may have already left or will be leaving for India soon. Please feel free to let me know when you are back. Those of you who have already confirmed, you will hear from me soon.

Thanks for your support and hope to hear from you soon.

Warm Regards,

Aradhana Bhattacharya
