Guest Artist for Baisakhi 2011 by Pujari Atlanta

Posted in Cultural Programme, Events by Pujari Atlanta on March 14, 2011

On the eve of Baisakhi on April 16, 2011, we have a special guest artist who has performed live in the past with leading Kolkata bands like “Chandrabindoo” & “Aabbulish”. His name is Arindam Mukherjee. He will be accompanied by another local artist, Jeff, (also from Mississippi) for his first ever performance in the Atlanta area.

This event (as advertised) is FREE of cost for all attendees and is being planned to start around 8.30 pm after dinner. So we encourage all Bengali Atlantans to come and enjoy this scintillating two-man band performance with us.

About Arindam

Arindam is a singer, songwriter, music composer, and arranger. He is a natural musician who has been performing since he was 4 years old. He is a musician extraordinaire, with a gritty feel and a sweet yet funky sound. Arindam has been enthralling the audience with a mixed bag of Bengali modern songs and folk songs which spans from Lalan Fakir’s baul composition to contemporary rock songs. Arindam was the keyboard player and singer for the leading Bengali band ‘Chandrabindoo’ for 6 years before moving to USA. As a member of ‘Chandrabindoo’, he has 3 albums to his credit – ‘Twaker Jatno Nin’, ‘Gadha’ and ‘Ar Jani Na’. Arindam had appeared on ZEE TV’s ‘TVS Sa Re Ga Ma’ Band Special show and also composed music for the leading Bengali Theatre Group “Ganakrishti”. He had formed & performed on another bengali band “Aabbulish” before moving to US. With over 13 years musical experience under his belt playing tabla for classical musicians, Arindam is well-versed in indian classical music as well. He is also the lead singer and keyboard player for the Houston based fusion band “Horizon”.
