Manavata is organizing an event on leadership, networking and healthy living. Please plan to attend this entry free event.

Here are the details of the venue and the plan.

Date: Sep-18-2010
Venue: Hindu Center, Global Mall, Atlanta.
(Next to Indian Groceries, Behind the building)
Schedule
2:00 PM to 2:30 PM – Networking
2:30 PM to 3:30 PM – Leadership Event (All are welcome)
3:30 PM to 4:00 PM – Networking
4:00 PM to 5:00 PM – Healthy living session
5:00 PM to 5:15 PM – Break
5:15 PM to 06:00 PM – Yoga Demo (People can do it or they can watch it.)
06:00 PM to 06:30 PM – Networking and snacks.
Agenda
Charity – sharing the best practices (Leadership event)
Main Guest: Srinivas Alluri
Leadershp event is mainly between 2:30 and 3:30. Yoga event is between 4 and 6 pm.

Become a Champion and Make a Statement

We at Vibha would like to invite your community/organization to participate in The DreamMile 5k Run/Walk on Sept 19th, 2009 at GA Tech. Vibha’s mission is to Educate, Empower and Enable you to make a difference in the life of an underprivileged child and last year 1000 runners and walkers made a huge difference!!!

The Dream Mile is a community event and your chance to become a champion and make statement that you care. Please join us and walk a few miles to fulfill a million dreams and display your banner proudly for children who do not have plenty and give them hope and inspiration. Please help us spread the word as it does not take much to help a child. As an added incentive for you to get registrations from your community and to increase visibility with your organization we are offering the following.

20 registrations – Display your banner at the event
30 registrations – Display your banner + Booth space at the event
50 registrations – Display your banner + Booth space at the event + T-shirt logo

Kids Carnival:

There will be several activities for kids of all ages.
1. Moon Walk, 2. Face Painting, 3. Clown Balloon Art, 4. Sand Art, 5. Bean Bag Toss, 6. Tennis Ball Throw, 7. Decorate and Eat your cookie, 8. Jewelery Making, 9. Lemon Spoon Race, 10. Kids Run and 11. Drawing Competition

It’s that time of the year again when I ask for your support for Raksha for our annual fundraiser. We will have a night of comedy featuring two south asian commedians Vijai Nathan and Tushar Singh. This year we are offering the opportunity to buy tables, purchase advertisements for our souvenir booklet and of course sponsor the event. We ask that you consider supporting Raksha in some way by supporting this event which will be a lot of fun. If you cannot personally do it – please consider asking your employer, checking with your marketing department or asking friends to consider supporting our event which helps us do our work! There will be a lot of cultural activities like Dhol players, professional Bhangra dances, Bollywood dances, food from every corner of India and last but not the least Bungee, inflatable games and lots of fun activities for all age group. There will be raffle draws every 30 minutes during the event.

Essay and Art Competition (MABA)

Dear Friends,

Mid America Bengali Association (MABA) is organizing an essay and art competition for children in different age groups.

Art Competition: (Deadline is 31st May, 2009)
For children KG – Grade 5, Topic: “A Bengali Festival”

Essay Competition: (Deadline is 31st May, 2009)
Grade 6 – Grade 10 – Topic: “Vidyasagar: The Renaissance Man” (1500 word limit)
Grade 11 – College (Undergraduate) – Topic: “A Foreign Language is My Mother Tongue” (2500 word limit)

There will be at least 3 (or more depending on the number of submissions) attractive prizes in each category. The monetary value of the prize will vary from $15 to $75 (or more depending on sponsorship). All winners will get a printed certificate, recognition in MABA’s website and magazine (Matrika). All participants will get an electronic participation certificate.

MABA is requesting submissions from anyone and everyone. This is an open event and submissions from India will also be accepted.
