Invitation for Baisakhi celebrations by Pujari Atlanta

Dear Pujari Patrons, Members and Non Members,

On the continuing eve of our 25th year anniversary celebrations, Pujari is pleased to invite you for BAISAKHI which also coincidentally serves as a unique opportunity for us to commemorate & celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Guru Rabindra Nath Tagore.

Pujari wishes to celebrate this occasion in your company with great show & style where we promise to entertain you with “muri & adda”, well thought cultural programs by local artists, a sumptuous dinner (with home cooked ruhi maacher jhal, mangsho, various vegetarian entrees & Kolkata-style misti) & finally a FREE guest artist program for all. This young talented artist is already planning to blow your minds away with his first ever Band performance in Atlanta. So, don’t miss out this gala event and mark your calendars for the following details:

When: Saturday, 16th April, 2011 from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Where: Berkmar High School, Lilburn, GA

High Level Schedule

  • 5:00-5:30 pm: Socializing Hour with “Muri & Cha”
  • 5:30-7:15 pm: Cultural Program by Local Artists
  • 7:15-8:30 pm: Special 25th year celebration Baisakhi Dinner
  • 8:30-10.00pm: Guest Artist Program

Cultural Program Details

“Megher pore megh jomeche” – Medley of Tagore songs by young adults & adults, Direction: Debasri Dutta

“Porano jaha chaye” – Adult Dance Program on Rabindra Sangeet, Direction: Mayuri Ray

Indo-American Jibon Panchali: “Khokon Re Tui Ghore Ay” – A saga of a dyed-in-the-wool Bengali, who travels to this land of opportunities, tries to pursue his dreams, meets obstacles, but finally bounces back nurturing his ‘Bong Connection (Skit, Dance & Music), Direction: Subhasree Nandy

“Jora SaNko” (Bridging Generations) – Moments with our own ever-contemporary Rabithakur in 150th year. A magical portrayal of evolution of Tagore’s versatile works & tunes that has bridged generations as we are mesmerized to embrace them in 2011 in Kolkata-Atlanta!!, Direction: Santanu Kar
